Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Spain’s Partido Andalucista has today insisted that relations between Gibraltar and Spain are at their worst. Spanish media reports note that Algeciras councilman and provincial deputy secretary of the party, Jose Maria Espana blames the on-going dispute on the bipartisanship attitudes of both the Partido Popular and the PSOE.
He also notes Algeciras Mayor Jose Ignacio Landaluce’s recent comments blaming the fishing dispute on former Spanish Minister, Miguel Angel Moratinos’ visit to the Rock in 2009.

Setup this year, their sole aim is to provide a great working environment for like-minded people who have decided to take the plunge and start something of their own.
The GSD say the latest statement by the Chief Minister on the Gibraltar Savings Bank (“the GSB”) shows that he is becoming increasingly erratic. The GSD statement continues:
His statements are peppered by irrational angry insults levelled at the Leader of the Opposition. The statements by Mr. Picardo that he is the most successful Leader of the Opposition in history because the GSLP-Liberals won a General Election after six months of him becoming Leader of the Opposition and that Mr. Feetham is the least successful because his party lost a by-election four months after taking the same position, is childish.
