Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
An exhibition about the Llanito language, curated by the University of Cambridge and the Gibraltar National Archives, was formally opened by the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia yesterday afternoon, together with the Archivist Gerard Wood, and in the presence of the Minister for Culture Christian Santos.
The GSD has said that it is unclear what the Government’s thinking is behind the expression of interest it has issued in respect of the Upper Rock which it says “smacks of a wholesale privatisation as a tourist destination.”
