European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
HMS Dragon will sail into Gibraltar on Saturday on her way back to the UK. She returns following a successful seven month maiden deployment to the Middle East as part of the UK’s long term commitment.
She will conduct a maritime security patrol on her way into HM Naval Base and take the opportunity to stock up on fuel and supplies whilst here in Gibraltar.
The Ministry of Culture has announced the programme of events for this year’s Festival of Lights on Friday 22nd November 2013. The events have been organised by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Gibraltar Electricity Authority (GEA) and shall be held at John Mackintosh Square.
The programme of events includes an arts and crafts market from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, performances by Tiffany Ferrary, Stylos Dance Company and Urban Dance and the Bishop Fitzgerald School choir. The Lights will be switched by Minister Steven Linares at 7pm, followed by an appearance by Father Christmas. The evening will be hosted by Rock Masters.
During his week-long visit to Gibraltar, His Excellency Cav. Gr. Cr. Johannes Niederhauser, Grand Chancellor of the Order of Sts. Maurice and Lazarus, of the Royal House of Savoy, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, at No 6 Convent Place this morning. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr Tony Lombard.
