June 26 - Full Text Of Minister Bossano's Budget Speech

Mr Speaker,

In my budget speech last year I make very clear a number of objectives the principal one of which was increasing the number of Gibraltarians in full-time employment

As I stated in the Viewpoint programme in November last year, based on the records of the employment service, the increase in the number of Gibraltarians in employment in one year was going to exceed that which had taken place in the previous 15 years of GSD government, this has now been confirmed.

Jun 26 - FSC Receives Investors in People Gold Standard Accreditation

A Gold Standard ‘Investors in People’ achievement has been presented to Gibraltar Financial Services Commission following the meeting of 175 evidence requirements for the accreditation.

The FSC first obtained IiP accreditation six years ago and at its previous review, three years ago, was accredited with Silver having met 97 additional indicators of the Standard.  This time round the FSC applied for, and has been granted the Gold standard.  This makes the FSC one of around 20 organisations outside of the UK to have achieved this standard and amongst the top 3% worldwide. The FSC is the second organisation in Gibraltar to have attained the Gold standard.

June 26 - Full Text Of Minister Linares' Budget Speech

Mr Speaker,

I cover a number of Ministries that are more high-profile like culture and sport as well as others that generally receive less publicity. I will therefore start with the ones not usually mentioned but which are also very important to our community and in respect of the function that they perform. In fact I feel honoured that these have been entrusted to me as Minister for Utilities, I cover both Water and Electricity, as the Chairman of Aquagib and the Gibraltar Electricity Authority.

Jun 26 - Miss Gibraltar 2013 Winners Presented with Prize Cheques

Yesterday afternoon Minister for Culture, Steven Linares presented Miss Gibraltar Maroua Kharbouch and her two princesses with their prize money and clothing allowances for the year. A cheque of £1,000 was also presented to former Miss Gibraltar, Jessica Baldachino commemorating the end of her reign. Winners are awarded their prize funds in two parts in order to ensure that they carry out their duties as Miss Gibraltar. Travel expenses for the Miss World pageant are also covered by the Ministry. Maroua received the sum of £4,500, with Jamie-Lee and Stacey receiving £1,500 and £1,000 respectively.
