Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Fund Directors Course held recently at Hassans came to an end earlier this week, with a certificate presentation ceremony for all participants. The 10-week course aimed to increase female representation at board level in Gibraltar and was organised on a pro bono basis jointly by Hassans and Rock Learning.
The Environmental Safety Group has said that, with COP27 underway in Egypt, it seems only yesterday that COP26 took place in Glasgow “with plenty of fanfare.” The group says that, “though far from perfect”, a number of commitments were made by world leaders to take meaningful action to reduce carbon emissions and support those most affected by climate impacts today. These commitments are now under scrutiny in Egypt.
Firefighters and Officers at the Airport Fire and Rescue Service have continued their busy training schedule throughout last week. Three courses were run concurrently at their Fire Station by highly experienced instructors from UK based BAS Training Associates Ltd. which has many years’ experience of teaching within the fire sector.
Chief Inspector Roy Perez has just returned from the UK to take part in the National Conference for Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs) in order to learn from the experience of the officers who have investigated some of the UK’s highest profile cases in recent years.
