Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Special Needs Group (SNAG) says it fully supports the difficult decision taken by Unite the Union to postpone Monday's Demonstration on the advice of Public Health. Given that many of its members are persons who are particularly vulnerable, or care for some of the most vulnerable within our community, SNAG says it “evidently recognises the need for caution.”

Gibraltar NASUWT says it supports Unite’s decision to postpone Monday’s demonstration in light of advice from the Director of Public Health, seeing as a demonstration of such a size “could potentially cause services to be significantly impacted by the spread of the omicron variant in Gibraltar.”
A teenager has been remanded in prison this afternoon after pleading not guilty in the Juvenile Court to a burglary at the International Police Association Club.
