Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo was received this morning by the President of the Junta de Andalucia Susana Diaz in the Palacio de San Telmo, which is the official seat of the regional government.
The GSD has said that the Government’s continued attempts to portray their environmental record as anything but a failure is “farcical”. The party says that after six years this administration has achieved a total of 1% of our community’s power supply needs through renewable energy sources and that the target is to reach 20% in just two more years.
This Sunday 28th January marks the anniversary of Data Protection Day, an annual event celebrated internationally, which commemorates the importance of privacy and data protection.
The GSD Leader Keith Azopardi has said that the Gibraltar Government must insist on participating in discussions that affect Gibraltar and that it is “no good” to allow the UK to brief Gibraltar on outcomes when our future is being discussed.
