Gibraltar has topped the list of the Huffington Post’s '10 Most Disappointing Destinations in the World'. Other places included are New York’s Liberty Island, Niagra Falls, seen form the US side of the border, Hollywood California, and Frankfurt Germany.
Good news was revealed today by the Chief Minister as the first stage of legal proceedings put against the Gibraltar Government by former Runway tunnel contractors Obrascon Huarte Lain SA (OHL), come to a close. Mr. Picardo this morning
told the Press that the Judgement being delivered today by Mr Justice Akenhead is that the ‘Gibraltar Government has succeeded entirely on the central issue of how the contract between OHL and the Government was terminated in the summer of 2011’.
The Gibraltar Classic Vehicle Association (GCVA) welcomes Parliament’s approval of the new legislation designed to protect, enhance and properly regulate the use of classic vehicles in Gibraltar.
The new legislation means that for the first time classic vehicles are recognised in Law as requiring special treatment. The road testing requirements, popularly known as MOT testing, will take into account the age of the vehicle and the motor technology that was available at the time it was first built. This, for example, will exempt classic vehicles from today's very stringent emission controls.
