European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Today, 25 November, is the United Nations International Day of Eliminating Violence Against Women.
The Government supports this International Day to End Violence against Women which is an opportunity for all people to recommit to preventing and halting all forms of violence against women and girls.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, is in London to attend meetings of the United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) and the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) which is made up of Ministers from the Territories and from the United Kingdom.
The Government, in a statement this afternoon, have said that the GSD Opposition’s “amnesia” is no excuse for their choice to “absent themselves from the real world.”
Earlier this year, GHITA organised a training course on British Sign Language level one. The course was taken up by six employees of the Care Agency, two from the GHA and a self-employed individual. The course has been a great success; all attendees having passed and received the SIGNATURE Accreditation Certificate after their video tests were adjudicated by a UK Examination Board. A reception was organised by GHITA last night and certificates were awarded by Samantha Sacramento, Minister for Equality, Social Services and the Elderly.
