Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Four Spanish nationals have today been sentenced to five and six years imprisonment in the Supreme Court.
Their arrest took place in the afternoon of the 2nd of June 2013 following the interception of the vessel they were in by officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police’s Marine Unit assisted by the Gibraltar Defence Police. The vessel was found to be carrying 500kg of Cannabis Resin (see left).
Acting on a European Arrest Warrant the Portuguese Authorities removed British national Gary Reginald FRENCH, aged 51 of Manilva, Spain from Gibraltar shortly after 3pm yesterday afternoon.
Staff and volunteers at the ADANA kennels, in Estepona’s Pedregales Park, were delighted to be joined by a team of young volunteers from Gibraltar. The team, all of whom are employees of global insurance company AON, had volunteered to help to a much-needed clear-up job on the weeds and vegetation that had grown over the year in the dogs’ exercise runs.
