Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The GSD has said that the Government’s continued attempts to portray their environmental record as anything but a failure is “farcical”. The party says that after six years this administration has achieved a total of 1% of our community’s power supply needs through renewable energy sources and that the target is to reach 20% in just two more years.

Seven men were arrested last night for being Non-Gibraltarians found in Gibraltar without valid permits and an eighth individual has been arrested for importing a prohibited import, namely a 150hp outboard powered, 6-metre Rigid Hulled Inflatable Vessel (RHIB). All 8 individuals are of North African descent, one of whom has Spanish nationality.
