European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Following the testing of a number of samples of beef products currently on sale in Gibraltar, for the presence of horse DNA, the Environmental Agency has noted that the results have been found to be negative. The analysis was commissioned following the on going scandal in the UK, that has seen a number of products sold in Supermarkets contain horse meat. The test included samples from a number of wholesalers in Gibraltar.
During the February session of Parliament held on Friday, whilst responding to Opposition questions Minister Neil Costa noted that Chris Ridell had been appointed Project Manager for the Small Boat Owners Project.
The inter-ministerial Committee in charge of the matter is made up of Justice Minister Gilbert Licudi, Environment Minister Dr. Cortes, Employment minister Joe Bossano and Tourism and the Port Minister Neil Costa.
