The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The GSD says that although it “broadly welcomes” the announcements made today by the UK and Gibraltar Governments in relation to an interim package of measures to secure market access following Brexit, it is “disappointing” that these guarantees only extend until 2020.
The Government has confirmed that specialist Geo Technical engineers have arrived in Gibraltar to assess the recent rock fall at Devil’s Tower Road and identify any residual risk.
The Government says it is “delighted” that the United Kingdom Government has guaranteed the continuation of market access for Gibraltar financial services and online gaming firms into the UK once both have left the European Union. The Government says this will serve to reassure the business community and will contribute to encourage the growth of these sectors.
