Yesterday morning, the Mayor of San Roque, Snr Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, accompanied by two of his councillors, paid his first visit to No 6 Convent Place where they met with the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia and Chief Secretary, Ernest Gomez.
In response to the GSD’s recent statement regarding the Government’s Ape management plan the Government has claimed that the GSD has clearly lost their way in trying to discredit them at every opportunity.
Commenting on their plan to sound loud noises in some of the areas of Gibraltar found to be most popular amongst the Barbary Macaques, the Government notes, ‘While macaques and baboons (on which noise has been tried as a deterrent) seem to acclimatize rapidly to automated sonic disturbance, they do not to harassment by people using sonic means. The latter is the method being used, with some success already.
Minister for Employment Joe Bossano and GJBS have reached a settlement with Mr Brian Zammit in relation to the libel claim brought against Mr Zammit last December.
The apology and retraction from Mr Zammit followed an article he published which was defamatory of Mr Bossano and the management of GJBS. As a result of the apology and retraction issued by Mr Zammit, Mr Bossano and the management of GJBS will now not pursue legal action against Mr Zammit.
At a presentation ceremony on Tuesday the 26th of February 2013 Commissioner Eddie Yome presented eight members of police staff with certificates recognising loyal service to the Royal Gibraltar Police.
The staff members included; Ms Maria Luisa Pau, Mrs Angela Posso and Mrs Michelle Sisarello who have all served twenty five years with the RGP. Also receiving awards were, Ms Joan Coelho, Ms Sandra Lane, Mrs Macarena Munoz who have worked with the force for twenty years and Mrs Nuria Fagan and Mrs Karen Torres who have worked with the RGP for fifteen years.
