European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
During a debate held in the UK Parliament last month, Europe Minister David Lidington responded to MPs questions on Gibraltar; including an inquiry put to him by Andrew Rosindell, Conservative MP for Romford, and long-term friend of Gibraltar. Mr. Rosindell probed the Europe Minister on whether Foreign Affairs Minister William Hague had met with the European Commission to discuss Gibraltar, this year.
Shortly after 1.30 am on Sunday morning, officers of the RGP Marine Section were alerted to a suspect vessel navigating in Gibraltar waters. Following a short search the vessel was located within BGTW, with four occupants and loaded with bales of Cannabis Resin. All four occupants were arrested on drugs offences and the vessel and drugs seized.
Following a report of a burglary in the evening of Thursday the 27th of February 2014, officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police arrested, on Friday the 28th of February 2014, a 28 year old local man on suspicion of burglary.
