As announced last year by His Worship the Mayor, the scope of the Mayor’s Award Scheme has been widened.
The Scheme, which until last year only recognised persons who had saved a life or who had participated in any life-saving rescue operation or act of bravery, now encompasses persons or groups who have served Gibraltar in exceptional or voluntary service over a prolonged period of time.

The player recently picked up an injury and following the advice of the two Medical Teams it has been agreed that William will be remaining at Southampton to ensure his rehabilitation continues.
Three Royal Navy ships will this weekend sail into the Naval Base on scheduled visits. The HMS Westminster arrived this morning following a six-month operational deployment in the Indian Ocean and Gulf R HMS Westminster is heading home after handing over her duties to sister ship HMS Somerset. She will be in Gibraltar for a couple of days to top up on supplies and give the crew some well-deserved rest and recuperation.
