The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, today met with the Foreign Secretary, Rt Hon Lord David Cameron, at the Foreign Office in London in order to discuss the outstanding issues and matters in the ongoing negotiation with the European Union in relation to Gibraltar.
As part of the Gibraltar National Day celebrations and to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Evacuation of the Gibraltarians during World War II, the Government has announced the issue of a new £15 fine silver circulating coin.
The Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) and Gibraltar Maritime Administration (GMA) will be co- sponsoring events at the London International Shipping Week (LISW) next week. Delegates from both authorities and the private sector will be representing Gibraltar at various events throughout the week.
The Government has announced that the Department of Social Security will increase by 1.6% the Gibraltar Old Age Pensions and Survivors’ Benefits with effect from 1st August 2015.
St Bernard’s First and St Bernard’s Middle Schools opened their doors to children for the very first time this morning. Both pupils and parents got a surprise when they were personally welcomed to their new schools by the Chief Minister and the Minister for Education.
