Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Following an interview in the Gibraltar Chronicle, in which Miss Gibraltar Maroua Kharbouch expressed her “disappointment” at not being considered a Gibraltarian, the Government has replied by clarifying the various definitions of “Gibraltarian” and the benefits associated therewith.
A former soldier was this morning handed a 12 month prison sentence suspended for two years after having pleaded guilty to wounding a man with a heavy duty bike chain.
The Environmental Safety Group yesterday paid tribute to outgoing Captain of the Port, Captain Roy Stanbrook. They note that major changes within and adjacent to the Port area require careful management and supervision during this time.
