Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Officers from HM Customs and the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service recently attended a bespoke two-day Critical Stress Debrief Course. The course was specifically designed for them as part of their wider Mental Health Training, and was held at Police Federation House in Leatherhead, Surrey.
Unite the union yesterday held a ballot with its HM Customs Marine Section Membership over issues of concern within the Marine Section and a proposed Rotation Agreement. The membership with an overall majority have voted in favour of taking Selective industrial Action. Unite says it will therefore commence such industrial action as from today.
The cast from the Young Shakespeare Company were busy entertaining Gibraltar’s middle and secondary school students with daily performances of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ last week. The performances consisted of an interactive session followed by a modern-day take on the play, with the cast using some of the students in the audience to play certain characters.
