European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The recent publication of the Insurance Linked Securities Guidelines by the FSC in Gibraltar has been met with a resounding welcome by the Government, who helped establish a working group that has been providing industry expertise and feedback to the Government and the FSC over recent months.
Team and site details for this year’s Clean Up the World Campaign, to be carried out on September 20th, were finalised this week. Twenty areas of focus have been decided upon and 30 teams have been put together.
A CUTW spokesperson noted that teams will be tackling green, seafront and upper rock sites, underwater and boat access only areas, the local environment will see direct benefit and awareness will be raised about litter problems and the need to implement further solutions.

The Gibraltar National Dance Team has returned to the Rock after representing Gibraltar at the World Show Dance Championships. The event was staged in Prague, Czech Republic with nearly 2,400 dancers from 26 nations taking part. The event was organised for the renowned world governing body the International Dance Organisation (IDO) by the Czech Dance Organisation (CDO).
