Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Government says it notes “with surprise” the statements made by the GGCA in respect of the ITLD Department, especially at a time when a second meeting to discuss matters between Government and the GGCA is scheduled for the 19th September.
The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo leaves for London today for a series of meetings on the negotiations for the future relationship of Gibraltar with the European Union.
The Gibraltar Contingency Council, chaired jointly by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and the Governor Vice Admiral Sir David Steel, convened at noon today at No 6 Convent Place. The Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Garcia and Minister for the Port Vijay Daryanani also attended.
The Government has replied to Together Gibraltar’s statement regarding the delays affecting St Martin’s school and the accusations that it silences NGOs.
