The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has said that although Gibraltar prefers a treaty to govern our relationship with the European Union, there are fundamental red lines which the Government is not prepared to cross in order to achieve it. Dr Garcia was speaking in Brighton today at the annual party conference of the U.K. Liberal Democrats.

We asked her about the Miss Gibraltar experience as a whole and how she felt once her name was called on Saturday evening. The GSD have issued the following reaction to the Government's announcement concerning tobacco sales:
The GSD welcomes the Government’s announcement that it will ban the sale of tobacco in certain Government estates. In fact, it is clear for everyone to see that this activity has been on the increase in Gibraltar over the last year, unfortunately worsened by the economic recession in Spain. At no point have we suggested that this is down to the Government of Gibraltar.
