The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Government says it is “delighted” to note that the European Commission has today announced that it has decided to repeal its decision to open infraction proceedings against the UK Government for the failure by the Gibraltar Government to recover illegal aid granted under the Income Tax Act 2010 to two multi-national companies.
The Government says it has received a number of complaints from the holders of blue civilian registration cards that their passports are being stamped by the Spanish authorities on entry to and exit from the Schengen area.
The GSD says it has received reports that Blue ID (civilian registration) card holders are having their passports stamped again by the Spanish authorities on entry into Gibraltar. When the GSD last raised this in June this year the Government gave assurances that this practice would be dropped by Spain after representations it made.
