The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).

The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, hosted a breakfast fringe meeting early today in Brighton in the margins of the Trade Union Congress 2016 Conference. The meeting was attended by Unite General Secretary, Len McCluskey, who introduced Mr Picardo to those attending.
Anthony Pitaluga and Gerard Wood from the Gibraltar National Archives have just returned from the annual Archives & Records Association (ARA) Conference UK held in London. This year’s conference theme was ‘Global Futures’ in which professionals and delegates explored the future role of archives in a global, electronically-connected environment.
