The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
In the latest move to tackle rent arrears, the Government has today published a Bill which will enable it to chase debts regardless of how long ago the debt was accrued.
Officers of the Crime and Protective Services Division have seized a substantial quantity of tobacco valued at approximately £110,000. The tobacco was seized from a store within Francis Building. Four brands of tobacco, Ducal, Elyxir, Winston and Chesterfield make up the total 700,000 cigarettes seized.
