    The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).

The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, met with the Minister of State for Europe, David Lidington, in a private session at Lancaster House today to discuss issues of interest to Gibraltar. Mr Lidington, who had earlier addressed a gathering of British Overseas Territories leaders attending the Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) warmly congratulated Mr Picardo on his landslide win at the recent General Election in Gibraltar.
