The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The outgoing President of the Courts Sir Paul Kennedy said he is happy to see Gibraltar’s court service in “good health and in good hands” during his final speech at the Opening of the Legal Year today.
Members of the Borders and Coastguard Agency’s training department have recently upgraded their skills by successfully completing a two day ‘Train the Trainer’ course at Bleak House. The course was delivered by a UK provider of Executive Coaching, Development and Consultancy services.
The new RAF Station Commander will take over on Monday. Wing Commander Liz Hutchison will replace the outgoing Station Commander Greg Smith. Ms Hutchison will be the first woman to have served in this top role on the Rock and she will be the most senior officer stationed at RAF Gibraltar.
