The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
Acting on the advice of the Specified Appointments Commission, His Excellency the Governor has today sworn in Ms Francesca Beiso, Mr Lesley Grech and Mr Michael Gil as members of the Public Services Commission and re-appointed Mr Adolfo Canepa OBE GMH as Chairman, in accordance with Section 54 (2) of the Gibraltar Constitution Order 2006.
The SDGG is delighted to confirm that as part of the Nation Day events, they have contracted the services of the Twister Aerobatics Display from the United Kingdom. Prior to the release of balloons, the planes will be doing a fly pass over Casemates Square. The balloons will then be released as customary by His Worship the Mayor, Adolfo Canepa.
