Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Her Majesty The Queen has approved that Sunday 9th November will be observed as Remembrance Sunday. This year, as last year, the Ceremony of Remembrance will be held at the British War Memorial on Line Wall Road, opposite City Hall, at noon.
The GSD this morning announced a set of new policies which aim to establish new levels of transparency and accountability in Government tender and recruitment processes. The GSD says that, if elected, these measures will ensure that taxpayers’ money is spent “with full reasoning and justification.”
Following accusations made by the Chief Minister that the Leader of the Opposition is lying, the GSD has hit back at the administration by claiming once again that Net debt is at its highest, reaching £354 million.
