Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Opposition GSD says that it would have wanted to commend Government on the new Public Services Magazine adding that it always applauds information share on where all Gibraltar’s money is being spent and the upcoming projects that are to be commenced.
An international symposium on self-determination is set to take place this Thursday 16th and Friday 17th October at the Garrison Library with the aim of delving into the historical backdrop underpinning the concepts of self-determination, devolution, and independence and to explore these notions across a number of different examples.
The Government says it is pleased to note the delayed closure of the Main Street branch of Barclays Bank and of the accounts of their customers there. The Government says it has worked closely with the senior management of Barclays on various matters relating to their Gibraltar operations including the date of closure, which has now been extended a further time, staff matters and other operational issues.
