Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
On the occasion of the Annual Civil Society Awards in May this year, the Equality Rights Group announced the commencement of a significant initiative aiming to increase the opportunity of ordinary citizens to be able to avail themselves of proper and full legal representation free of charge in circumstances where, normally, they might fail to qualify for Legal Aid or Assistance.
The New Movement group has started a campaign asking for Queen Elizabeth II come to Gibraltar on an official visit. The group says it is thrilled that the Chief Minister also made the same request on National Day in his speech at Casemates Square.
