Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The recent discovery of Neanderthal engravings at Gorham’s Cave, which was reported across the globe earlier this week, has inspired a piece by the satirical news website The Daily Mash.
Gibraltar is to feature in UK tour operator Kirker Holidays’ new brochure for November 2014 – October 2015. The travel firm specialises in the luxury short-breaks market with tailor made vacations for discerning travellers. The brochure also emphasises cultural tours and musical holidays with many destinations including highly regarded museums such as the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and Prado in Madrid.
As part of a campaign launched by the Care Agency, in conjunction with the RGP, a stall was set up in Piazza today to spread awareness of binge drinking on National Day, handing out free t-shirts emblazoned with the slogan ‘Keep Calm, Enjoy Gibraltar National Day & drink Responsibly’.
Due to recording commitments, Clean Bandit has had to cancel their performance at tomorrow’s Gibraltar Music Festival (GMF). They sent their sincerest apologies to all fans and hope to return to next year's event.
