Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, have met with the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building of The White House - which houses a majority of offices for White House staff. The CEQ are President Obama's principal policy advisers on environmental issues and initiatives. The Gibraltar delegation met with the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Associate Director for Climate Change.
This morning Minister Neil Costa launched the Ministry for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port’s website, designed and developed by Piranha Designed. The site features press releases and podcasts outlining projects being carried out by the Ministry, including the recently discussed beach regeneration programme.
The GSD has today called upon the Government to make a statement as to when it intends to reform the legal aid and legal assistance rules in order to make it fairer for all.
