European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
During a visit to Gibraltar, in an effort to learn more about a culture developed by both English and Spanish influences, students of the Frederikssund Gymnasium high school in Demark were today treated to a question and answer session with Ministry for Culture, Youth and Sport, Steven Linares.
The Chief Minister took a tour of Laguna and Glacis estates yesterday evening in order to see for himself the effects of a new law which prohibits over the counter sales of tobacco in shops located in these residential areas. The new law is intended to bring an end to the anti-social behaviour associated with the tobacco trade which had plagued these estates in recent times.
This week, works to refurbish balconies along the west elevation of Mount Alvernia have commenced. Balconies will receive total replacement of balustrades and flooring. Current balconies have become dilapidated and have therefore needed to be supported by scaffolding that has been erected for over a decade.
