The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has said that although Gibraltar prefers a treaty to govern our relationship with the European Union, there are fundamental red lines which the Government is not prepared to cross in order to achieve it. Dr Garcia was speaking in Brighton today at the annual party conference of the U.K. Liberal Democrats.
The GSD says it is surprised that the Chief Minister does not have more important things to do with his time than to read messages sent by the Leader of the Opposition to his own party members adding that, if Mr Picardo spent less time on social media and on other trivialities and more time trying to attract inward investment, Gibraltar as a whole would benefit greatly. The GSD says that if it were not because the Chief Minister accuses the Leader of the Opposition of lying, it would “not even entertain a response to such pettiness.”

A suspect suitcase has been located in the Town Range area by the Magistrates Court. The RGP has cordoned off the area from St. Andrew’s Church and the EOD team has carried out a controlled explosion of the object. Police urge those travelling into the area to bear with them as safety is paramount.
