The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Gibraltar FA Under 17 team today played their final match in the Under 17 qualifiers. In a narrow defeat of 2 -1 to Armenia, Gibraltar’s goal was scored by George Wink of Lincoln FC.
The GFA has today announced a selection of International friendly matches to be played by the Gibraltar FA ‘A’ team. The team will face Slovakia on the 19th November at the Estadio de Algarve in Portugal. They will then play the Faroe Islands in the 1st March 2014 at the Victoria Stadium. Further matches will be played against Estonia on the 5th March and 26th May 2014 in the Victoria Stadium and then in A. Le Coq Arena in Estonia.
Last weekend, the Minister for Justice, Gilbert Licudi QC, attended the Second Meeting of the Arab Forum on Asset Recovery held at Marrakech.
The meeting, which was co- hosted by the United Kingdom as the current President of the G8, was attended by over 300 delegates from forty countries including the Attorney Generals of both the UK and United States.
The Opposition has today questioned the effectiveness of Environment Minister Dr. Cortes’ announcement that systematic searches take place as part of the Upper Rock Surveillance Monitoring Programme, following reports of illegal traps, by members of the public. Shadow Minister Jaime Netto has also received claims that individuals have bought exotic pets and abandoned them in the Upper Rock, whilst the perennial problem of feeding of the Barbary macaques continues.
