Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Local South West Conservative MEP, Ashley Fox, is to visit Gibraltar from Sunday 27th to Tuesday 29th October. Gibraltar, which forms part of the South West of England region for the purpose of European Elections, has been represented by Mr Fox since 2009.
Shortly before midnight on the 19th of October, officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police arrested two locals and a Spaniard for tobacco offences. The arrests took place in the area of Witham’s Road.
A group of military veterans from the Royal Green Jackets – one of the most popular British Army units ever stationed on the Rock – together with a comrade from the Royal Artillery, returned to Gibraltar last week for a brief holiday and stroll down memory lane.
