Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Francisco Javier Pérez Trigueros, the controversial Partido Popular Mayor of the small municipality of Callosa de Segura, Valencia, has sparked a fierce reaction by posting on his Facebook page a doctored image showing the Spanish army and air force “invading” Gibraltar.

The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo MP, travels to London today Tuesday to hold meetings with the Prime Minister, Rt Hon David Cameron and the Foreign Secretary, Rt Hon William Hague.
These meetings will enable Mr Picardo to discuss face to face with each of them a number of important matters, in particular the current abuses by the Spanish authorities at the Gibraltar frontier and the statements from senior Spanish politicians threatening further measures against Gibraltar.
