European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Locally employed man Paul Martin, aged 27 was recently arrested and charged by Customs officers at the Land Frontier for the possession of 0.4 grams of Heroin and 0.2 grams of Cocaine. Mr. Martin was also charged with the importation of the Class A drugs and appeared before the magistrate on Wednesday 3rd July.
This morning at 10am, newly elected member of Parliament and former GSLP candidate in yesterday’s By-Election Albert Isola was sword into his new position as MP and Minister for the GSLP Alliance Government.
Commenting on the success of polling Day, His Excellency the Governor claimed, ‘the election process worked immaculately, if I may say so. The returning officer reported it to me this morning that the election was duly executed. I think Gibraltar should be very proud of that electoral process and would offer my thanks and pay tribute to Melvyn Farrell the Returning Officer and all his flanks of volunteers who did so well yesterday.’
With Summer Nights set to begin next Thursday the Ministry of Culture has today announced the line up for the month long event. The Ministry has worked particularly hard with organisers ‘Fresh Events’ in order to provide a very entertaining programme.
