June 26 - Malicious Software Scam – RGP Warning

The Royal Gibraltar Police wishes to warn computer users following reports of Malware (malicious software) scams circulating on the internet purporting to be from law enforcement agencies. This specific type of malware locks screens and requests members of the public to pay a fine to get their computers unlocked. The malware infects personal computers after users have accessed certain websites. There are similar scams involving Microsoft.

Jun 26 - Government Launched Drug Strategy Committee to Focus on Extent of Drug Abuse Problem within Gibraltar

drug strategy committeeIn an attempt to tackle the ever-present issue of drug and alcohol abuse within Gibraltar, an inter-ministerial committee was formed today, marking International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The committee is set to be chaired by Care Agency Minister Samantha Sacramento and will include Justice Minister Gilbert Licudi, health minister Dr. John Cortes, Sports and Youth minister Steven Linares and a number of other participants including the Care Agency CEO, Chief Inspector Richard Ullger of the RGP, and a number of health experts.

June 26 - Beach Improvement Details

Further to the previous statements issued by the Government, referring to beach improvements and accessibility facilities at the beaches, the Government would like to provide further details of services that have already been set up and remind all of what has been achieved in this term of office.

1. Pergolas providing an area for assistance with transfers to amphibious beach equipment.

2. New ramps have been provided at Camp Bay and Catalan Bay.

3. The ramps at Eastern Beach have been reconditioned.
