Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
A group of Management students from Gibraltar College recently took part in a Leadership Day in the Spanish town of Benaojan. The Level 3 and Level 5 students are undergoing a diploma course in Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute, the only chartered professional body dedicated to management and leadership. The course which is being delivered at Gibraltar College, aims to develop the management skills and practices of professionals.
This morning, a brunch was hosted at the Mayor's Parlour for the Friends of Gibraltar Society, as well as the Heritage Trust. The Friends of Gibraltar is a registered charity made up of many individuals who hold links with Gibraltar, be it through business, marriage, or having spent a stint living on the Rock.
His Worship the Mayor presented recently appointed Mayor of the Test Valley Borough Council, Mrs. Janet Whiteley with a Gibraltar Crystal Paper weight. On behalf of the Society, Mayor Whitely handed Mayor Tony Lima one of their ties.
The Gibraltar Charities Forum will hold its first meeting on Thursday 27th June in the Charles Hunt Room in the John Mackintosh Hall at 6pm.
The aim of this Forum is to offer local registered charities a place to share, discuss and meet. There is an active closed Facebook page of the same name to enable prompt contact between charities.
The Forum has been set up by the founder of the Gibraltar Multiple Sclerosis Support Society to provide a place where charities can communicate and discuss any issues they wish to.
