GBC GibraltarThe comments by the Opposition regarding the Board of GBC shows both that they are suffering from selective amnesia and that they do not know what they are talking about.

Mr Feetham may not be aware that the procedure followed in the appointment of this Board, with respect to consultation, is exactly the same procedure that was used by Mr Caruana when he was Chief Minister. It is quite incredible and more than a little hypocritical that the Opposition should now complain about the mechanics of a process of consultation that they institutionalised when they were in office.

May 29 GSD Concerned About GHA Surgery Waiting List

GSD GibraltarGovernment Plans failing: 1,044 waiting for Surgery, 59 Operations cancelled for lack of beds

The GSD is very disappointed that despite the much heralded announcement of the opening of Calpe Ward and the increase in domiciliary care, which according to Dr Cortes would bring an end to cancellation of surgery due to bed shortages, the number of operations cancelled solely in the last four months due to unavailability of beds is the same as the number cancelled in the whole of 2007, 59.   The number of acute beds occupied by long-stay elderly and complex cases awaiting transfer to the Care Agency is back up to 80, despite a temporary dip to 66 last September.  Similarly disappointing is the fact that the number of people on the GHA operations waiting list has increased by 163 since the GSLP took office in December 2011, and now stands at a staggering 1,044, representing an increase of 14%.

May 28 - Missing Gibraltarian Boy Last Seen in La Linea

francis almanThe RGP has today announced that 12-year-old Gibraltarian boy, Francis Alman has been missing since yesterday evening. Francis is approximately 1 metre 46 in height, of a thin build and with brown eyes and short, brown hair. He was last seen at the frontier in La Linea at around 6pm yesterday evening, wearing a yellow hooded jumper emblazoned with a large number 5 on the front, blue tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the sides and white trainers.
