Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Corps of Royal Engineers will mark its Freedom of Gibraltar with a series of events on the weekend of the 26th – 28th April 2013.
Former Royal Engineer Geoff Stone, Treasurer of the Royal Engineers Association Gibraltar, met up with newly commissioned 2 Lt Tim Barton RE who has been deployed to Gibraltar to begin preparations for the event.
Two men, aged 18 were arrested and charged, by officers of the RGP’s Area response team, on Friday evening, following an attempted robbery that occurred at a shop in Fish Market Road at 7:30pm.
Last Wednesday, the European Commission adopted a proposal for an EU Regulation amending the 2004 EU Regulation on denied boarding compensation and other passenger rights.
The 2004 Regulation is one of the remaining EU aviation measures that still contains the suspension clause. The proposal for the amendment does not seek to remove the suspension clause.
