The GSD says the Chief Minister has been in contact with the Leader of the Opposition, Keith Azopardi, overnight in relation to the collision between the Bulk Carrier OS 35 and Adam LNG.
The Minister for Culture, John Cortes, received a commemorative medallion from the Gibraltar Re-enactment Association in honour of their 20th Anniversary.
This morning the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo QC and His Excellency the Governor Vice Admiral Sir David Steel jointly chaired a meeting of the Gibraltar Contingency Council and of the Strategic Coordination Group at No.6 Convent Place to receive updates on the ongoing incident involving the bulk carrier, the OS 35, in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters. The Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Garcia, the Minister for the Port Vijay Daryanani and the Minister for Environment John Cortes were also present.
The Governments says the situation at present remains stable with the Bulk Carrier OS 35 currently beached on the Eastside, in an area approximately just over 200m off Catalan Bay. The bow of the vessel is already resting on the seabed in 17m of water, listing only by 3 degrees to starboard. The situation is constantly being assessed by the Port Authority.
