Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
In reply to Together Gibraltar’s recent statement, the Government says the “accusation that the Chief Minister has lied to the people of Gibraltar is as absurd as it is untrue and should be immediately retracted”.
The Government says it regrets to confirm the death of a resident of Gibraltar from COVID-19, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in our community to 101.
A number of Airport Fire and Rescue Service personnel were actively engaged in various specialist training courses during December. In the first instance FF Craig Bonnici, who recently qualified as a firefighter in October, returned to the UK for aviation specific training. This 2-week aircraft firefighting and rescue course took place at the International Fire Training Centre (IFTC) in Teesside where he was able to further develop his skills and knowledge at this specialist centre.
The Ministry of Equality would like to remind the public that the first online Disability Survey that it launched in October 2021 will close on the 31st January. It therefore encourages anyone with a disability, who has not done so already, to take this opportunity to have their say in any matter that affect their daily lives in Gibraltar.
