The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Government has said that the remarks by to Snr Luis de Guindos yesterday in answer to a question by Spanish Partido Popular MEP Pablo Zalba Bidegain in relation to Gibraltar's tax legislation “are as predictable as they are untrue and erroneous.” Number Six says that it is unfortunate that De Guindos chooses to “steadfastly ignore facts and reality.”
The construction of affordable homes in Sand Dune House, one of the two blocks at Beach View Terraces, is now complete.
