The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
Further to the successful Post Box Toppers Campaign during September organised by ERS and supported by the Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society, the residents and staff from Elderly Residential Services (ERS) have made a further Post Box Topper for Christmas with a Dementia Theme.
The Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability, John Cortes travelled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week to represent Gibraltar at COP28, the global Climate Change conference. Minister Cortes forms part of the United Kingdom Delegation in Dubai, having previously attended COP25 and COP26 in Madrid and Glasgow respectively.
The Convent Christmas Fair held last week was a huge success. The Governor says he would like to extend his heartfelt gratitude to all involved: the stall holders, volunteers, school children (with their amazing singing and dancing), Bassadone Motors for the “superb main raffle prize" (motorbike), and of course all of the visitors to the Convent who made the day so special.
