Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Ministry for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port wishes to advise the public that the next Business Support Unit Seminar on Internet Shopping, which was to take place on the 4th July 2013, has been cancelled due to the Byelection. The seminar has been re-scheduled and will now take place on the 23rd July 2013 10:30am at the Finance Centre Boardroom, Suite 761 Europort.
A 33 year old local man was arrested in a joint interdiction by officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police and HM Customs on Sunday evening. The man had driven across the Land Frontier in a locally registered car shortly after 8p.m. and had been challenged by officers of HM Customs; he then attempted to leave the area in his car at speed, driving into a Customs Officer in the process of leaving the HM Customs precinct.
A pursuit by HM Customs ensued and the man was stopped by Officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police and HM Customs in theWaterport area.
