European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Care Agency has recently held a Level 2 Dignified Care and Responsibility Training Course (DCRT).
Two sessions of the course have been delivered for staff from St Bernadette’s Resource Centre and Dr Giraldi Home. The first session was attended by 13 members of staff and the second by 12.
LCpl Tarik Chrayeh from the Regiment has been selected by the Army Football Association to represent the Army in this year’s Inter-Service Championships.
He recently attended a training camp in the UK with over 30 of the best football players from the British Army. A spokesperson from the Army Football Association said: “LCpl Chrayeh was exceptional in training yesterday and has subsequently earned his place in tonight’s starting line up against the RAF.”
Celebrating Earth Hour once again this Saturday, Gibraltar is set to plunge the Rock into Darkness at 8:30pm in order to save energy and promote awareness of electrical consumption. The idea for the event was coined in 2007 by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald. In order to participate, individuals must turn off all lights in their home or business for one hour.
Daniel Young, aged 19, of 8/10 Booth’s Passage was yesterday 20th March convicted in the Magistrates Court for possession of 8.77 grams of Cannabis resin and possession with intent to supply of 2.6 grams of Cannabis resin. He was sentenced to six months imprisonment.
Young received no separate penalty on a further count of possession with intent to supply of a class ‘C’ drug, 20 x 2mg tablets of Alprazolam.
